LEGO Worlds Offers New Creative Play

Like Minecraft, Lego Worlds is a great way to invent your own spaces to play in. We got one family to try the game out. It's currently available on PC via Steam. Here's what they made of it.

Lego Worlds brings the now familiar crafting experience made famous by Minecraft to the family favourite Lego bricks on PC via Steam Early Access. Early Access games, it should be noted, are not the finished product, so the experience you get with Lego Worlds may vary significantly, with our first 20 minutes with it being equal parts fun, equal parts frustrating.

For those wanting to dive in now, there are plenty of easy to use crafting tools to quickly change your world, with the promise of even more to come. While something like Minecraft focuses on that single block by block building experience. Lego Worlds offers something else, with tools that allow you to make massive changes to your World with just a few clicks.

Graphically the appearance of the game will vary depending on your hardware, with our test laptop having to dial down a few settings to compensate for the resolution we needed to use. However, if you're a fan of Minecraft, graphics aren't exactly top of the list when it comes to a great gaming experience. Certainly there's enough here to keep you interested, but more development is needed to know the existing crafting champion off it's blocky throne.
