Skylanders Battlecast Combines Cards and Video-Games

Skylanders is a popular video-game but this year there's a new version coming to tablets and smartphones. Skylanders Battlecast combines a traditional card game with a video-game and augmented reality technology.

What this means is that you collect the cards in real life but then automatically scan them into the tablet app to play against friends all over the world. The game has layered game-play so that it starts simply but soon gets more strategic. Plenty of logical and forward thinking is required from children for them to do well.

The Skylanders Battlecast app is out today and the packs of cards will arrive in stores on Friday.
