Wave 2 amiibo Figures

With more amiibo figures are now in stores, we got the latest characters in the family to unbox and try out.

If you've not come across Nintendo's amiibo figures before they are like Skylanders but unlock competitor characters and other items in Nintendo games. The first figures are for Super Smash Bros and unlock content in Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors.

You don't need a Portal for them because the technology is already in the Wii U game-pad controller. This makes them good value for families, and certainly something to complement other toy-video-games like Skylanders, Disney Infinity and Angry Birds Transformers.

They will also be supported by upcoming Nintendo games for Wii U and 3DS, although exact functionality hasn't been revealed on this yet.
