Having the right video-game information at your fingertips ensures you get the most from games in your family.

Checking the PEGI age rating on the box and online before purchase is one way to make an informed decision. PEGI not only provide an Age rating but also content descriptors of why a game got a certain age rating. The Games Rating Authority then expand on this rating with more detail about the game on their website.

Another new way to get more information is via Twitter. The GRA has recently set up an account @gamesratinguk and will answer queries about game ratings. They offer “Updates from the Games Rating Authority, the statutory body which rates video games in the UK, using the PEGI system.”

This provides another level of detail and can help families find the right information in timely fashion. They also have access to a long history of game information for those looking researching an unusual present this Christmas.
