Mixels App Adds Game-Play to Collectable Toy Line
The Mixels series from Cartoon Network and Lego combine two popular brands for families. Lego provide the collectable and build-able toys while the cartoon show brings a Saturday morning TV feel to proceedings.
Recently though, an app has been added to this winning formula. This lets you track and unlock the different Mixels tribes each with their own powers. These powers can then be put to use in the range of different lands to explore, each with different objectives and challenges.
In the app you can tackle quests to earn rewards like unlocking extras, Mixels videos and building instructions. Of course you can track your success with the outpost data that now includes a count down on the Nixels left in each attack wave (as well as how difficult the next outpost attack will be). Finally the quest stars offer additional bonuses to your item rewards. All important stuff to get your tactics correct.
With the success of this app it seems likely that other Lego ranges will see their own apps. Perhaps the upcoming Ninjago, Star Wars, Jurassic World or Scooby Doo sets could have a spin of product in addition to the already announced Lego video-games.
