AskAboutGames On The Road: Into Games Livesteam

Here's the first of a new series of blogs for 2022. We often get out the office to provide advice and guidance on family video games in schools, colleges and community groups. Here we will be highlighting the best of these, and the resources that we have created to support these events.

At the end of last year, we were invited to be part of the Into Games live stream with Creative Assembly. Our editor, Andy Robertson, offered some advice and guidance about healthy gaming, and how to get your child started making their own video games.

It was a lovely conversation packed full of industry insider tips as well as advice from other families. If you want to find out how to open the door to programming, making music, producing and drawing, this is a great place to start.

We talk about:

Super Mario Maker (PEGI 7)

Game Builder Garage (PEGI 7)

Dreams (PEGI 12)

Roblox (PEGI 7)

We also mentioned a list of games we have created in collaboration with the National Video Game Museum that gets children started in making games and game-adjacent thinking.
