Questions of the Month for December

In Homepage, Blog, Console, Handheld, Advice, Questions of the Month

Each month we field all manner of different questions on askaboutgames. Some people have intricate queries about particular games while others want to know which console will be best for their family. Here are our picks this month.

Question: I’m a great fan of Ashes Cricket video game but i have PS Vita so I wanted to know will the game be available for PS Vita.

Answer: Although there are a variety of sports games available for the Vita, there is currently no version of Ashes Cricket. Perhaps the FIFA football and MLB Baseball games would offer an alternative both of which have reviewed well.

Question: Is there a version of Pokemon Y that can be played on the DSi XL?

Answer: Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are only available for the 3DS and 2DS handheld consoles from Nintendo. There are however a wide range of Pokemon games available for the DS, a full list is available here.

Question: Do you know if the Xbox game Call of Duty Ghosts has a parental filter on it?  I know I can set parental controls on the system itself but some games also have a parental filter to lesson the language etc.  My son really wants this game but unless I can filter it I will not buy it, but I can not get a straight answer from anyone!

Answer: From our research this doesn’t seem to be an additional feature over and above the filtering you can set via the console. The PEGI ratings for Call of Duty Ghosts may help your purchasing decision:

“The content of this game is suitable for persons aged 16 years and over only. It contains: Realistic looking violence – – Strong language. This game allows the player to interact with other players ONLINE.”

Question: I’m trying to find an old video game. You were a knight walking down trails skeletons, would come out of the ground you had armour you could get green armour, and gold armour with s red feather, I think the goal of the game was to get to the castle and rescue the princess.

Answer: Although there are a number of games that match that description it sounds like this is the Ghost and Goblins / Ghosts and Ghouls series. These games have been re-released on more recent consoles.

You can check PEGI ratings on the PEGI website.
