Denshattack! is an on-rails jumping and grinding game where a gravity-defying train fights back against its domineering corporation across an alternate future Japan. Play involves speeding through levels by switching tracks, drifting corners and slamming the brakes at just the right time for boosts. It stands out for chaining together Tony-Hawk-style timed tricks and the bombastic road trip vibe that elevates the challenge beyond simply choosing the right lane.

You join a band of outcasts trying to bring down the sinister Miraidō corporation in a colourful Japanese dystopia. This is more than a race from place to place: you ollie, kickflip, grind and land tricks through major cities, meadows, volcanoes and oceans. You hop between tracks, slamming down to stay aligned, and layering aerials into longer score chains. Along the way, you work to find all the collectables, which means that multiple runs are essential to find every item on each increasingly intricate route.
As you progress, the routes become more demanding and require more complex moves to master. It turns from a race to the finish into a combo-rich playground where the key is spotting drifting and tricking not only for more speed but to access parts of the level. In this way, you rise from rookie to legendary Denshattacker, with rival gangs becoming allies, increasingly bizarre bosses to overcome, and levels that reward replaying, memorising layouts, and mastering the game’s high skill ceiling.
This results in a game that is unusual not just because you control a trick-performing train, but because it treats rail travel like a score-attack playground.
